The US postal service is considering cutting back deliveries of mail to only 5 days instead of 6. They would not be making any deliveries on Saturdays only Monday through Friday. This is because they have seen a drop in income. The postal service runs solely off of revenue and is not government funded. However they did just borrow $10 billion from the US treasury. The postal service has 36,500 retail branches; this is more then Starbucks, Walgreen, McDonald, and Wal-Mart combined.
This is definitely saying something about our priorities. Celebrities are making millions of dollars but we might have to cut back the number of days we get our mail. This doesn't seem right.
This is crazy! Our priorities are not right in this situation. I would hate to see the mail not run on saturdays. I think there should be cuts made somewhere else. We need to think about what we need instead of what we want.
