health care for all!!!!

This pass Sunday, history was once again made. President Obama's health care was passed. This means that 31 uninsured Americans are now covered under this health care plan. The grand total being that about 94% of all Americans now have health care. This not only insures Americans for health care but it will also help inform them about their physicians ownership of things such as medical equipment and medicine. Another great benefit to this health care is that is allows students to stay on their parents heath coverage until they are 27.

Over all I fell like this change is going to do nothing but help us.

Telephone

Last Thursday, the Lady Gaga music video Telephone was finally released. However, soon after the video was aired, rumors arose that MTV was banning the video from being played on their station. These rumors have been squashed and are said to be false. According to Amy Doyle, an MTV Executive Vice President of Music and Talent, MTV did not ban the video. In fact she said that Friday, March 12th, the video was available to be viewed online at 12:30, and was then played on MTV at 9:30 that morning.
These rumors are said to have stemmed from a portion of CNN the Sunday after the video was released when Fredricka Whitfield and Jacqui Jeras discussed it.
I'm not sure why MTV would ever ban a music video by Lady Gaga. Yes she can very suggestive and have explicit lyrics but so are plenty other artiest that MTV features. I watched the premiere of this video on E!, and I would definitely say that it has strong content, but nothing worth banning over. Especially with MTV's standards.

What About Farrah?

During the 2010 Oscars, there was a memoriam of stars that we lost during the past year, however Farrah Fawcett was one that had been left out. She was in movies such as Cannonball Run and Logan's run. When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science was asked why she was left out this was their reply, "I would not say that it was an oversight. No matter how carefully and how conscientiously people address who is included, there are people who just simply can't be."I would not say that it was an oversight. No matter how carefully and conscientiously people address who is included, there are people who just simply can't be."

After reading this, I have lost respect of the Academy. Farrah Fawcett has been in so many amazing movies that it is hard to believe that she was simply forgotten about. And to blame it on the fact that they can't fit everyone in is just a lame excuse. They need to admit they messed up and not just come up with some lame excuse to make them look better.

You've got mail

The US postal service is considering cutting back deliveries of mail to only 5 days instead of 6. They would not be making any deliveries on Saturdays only Monday through Friday. This is because they have seen a drop in income. The postal service runs solely off of revenue and is not government funded. However they did just borrow $10 billion from the US treasury. The postal service has 36,500 retail branches; this is more then Starbucks, Walgreen, McDonald, and Wal-Mart combined.

This is definitely saying something about our priorities. Celebrities are making millions of dollars but we might have to cut back the number of days we get our mail. This doesn't seem right.
